Beloved Aunt


Constance M. Kolosowski, 100, of Newington and East Lyme, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Leniart) Kolosowski, and lived most of her life in Hartford before moving to Newington in 1970. She graduated from Hartford High School and attended Hillyer College. She was an active member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. She retired from Aetna Life and Casualty Co. and went on to pursue other employment opportunities. She played golf for many years until a wrist injury prevented her from continuing. She especially enjoyed being employed at Travel Agencies as an escort for their trips. She organized and ran trips for organizations such as AARP and church groups. She was a life member of the Aetna Employee Club, past president of the Aetna Woman's Club, past president and Charter Member of the Aetna Retiree (39ers) Club. Honorary member of the Polish Junior League, an auxiliary member of the Polish Legion of America, Veterans Post 51, Hartford, a member of the Polish Cultural Club of Greater Hartford, the Ladies Guild and a charter member of the Golden Seniors Club of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, the Newington Historical Society and Trust, Newington Seniors and Newington AARP 697. She was an avid traveler, visiting European countries, all around the U.S., Canada and Mexico. She enjoyed the times spent at the beach cottage in East Lyme and socializing with friends. She leaves a niece, Dr. Patricia Kolosowski of Kennebunk, ME, a beloved grandniece, Katherine Kolosowski and her husband Joseph Frascotti of Alexandria, VA, and two grandnephews, Andrew Gager and Arthur H. Gager, III, all of Kennebunk, ME, and a nephew, Paul A. Kolosowski and his wife Claudette of Franksville, WI. She was predeceased by her brothers, Casimir Kolosowski and his wife Eugenia and Michael Kolosowski. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. She will be laid to rest in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In honor of Constance's view on the importance of Catholic School education and education in general, memorial donations may be made to the Constance Kolosowski Memorial Fund at, where a fund has been set up by her family for future scholarships.
