Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather

Henry J. Turek, 95, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Genevieve (Urbanowitz) Turek for 71 years. Born in New Britain, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Uchalik) Turek, he was a lifelong New Britain resident and member of Sacred Heart Church. Henry honorably served his country in the U. S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He was employed at Stanley Works as General Foreman until his retirement and enjoyed fishing with friends and family. Along with his wife, he leaves his two sons, Michael Turek and his wife Sharon of Lebanon, PA, and Philip Turek of Chardon, OH, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his sister Irene Turek Bialy. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, Nov. 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
