Tribute & Message From The Family

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Jean H. (Belliveau) Hodge, of Newington, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Hodge for 30 years. She was previously married to Robert Bialy. Born in Norwich, she was a longtime Newington resident and a graduate of Newington High School in 1955. She was employed in Aetna's Computer Services area for 42 years. After her retirement, she embarked on a fulfilling "second career" as a volunteer at Middlesex Hospital's Cancer Center. Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother and was very dedicated to her husband Ron. Jean's wonderful sense of adventure saw her traveling throughout the US and the UK with Ron, riding in their convertible and on the back of his motorcycle, trying her hand at a variety of winter sports and testing, ever so capably, a new style of cooking. And, let us not forget, we all enjoyed her quick wit - which she maintained, even during her struggle with dementia.

Along with her husband, she leaves her three children, Bruce Bialy and his wife Cindy of East Greenwich, RI, Kim Nadeau and her husband Dave of Newington, Craig Bialy and his wife Kathy of Loveland, CO, her stepchildren, Lori Grace and her husband Francis of Middletown and Raymond Hodge of Newington, eight grandchildren, Katie and Rob Bialy, Christopher Nadeau and his wife Becky, Kellie Insalaco and her husband Ronnie, Michael Nadeau, Kristin Bialy, Kevin Bialy and his wife Amber, Matthew Bialy, her step grandson, Tyler Hodge, and five great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Harry Morgan of the Center for Geriatric & Family Psychiatry for his dementia expertise and the manner in which he treated Mom and to Fatima and the exceptional in-home care providers from South Cross Inc. for enabling Mom to remain in the comfort of her home.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, via mail at 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047, or online at:
